Synopsis
Marathon is a one-industry town struggling for survival and things have been collapsing in this mill town for quite some time. Fewer loggers are employed, the fate of the mill is in question and now, a vocal contingent of environmental protesters has arrived, accompanied by the flash and scrutiny of the media. The last thing Marathon needs is more bad news.
George unknowingly captures on film, events that threaten to strip away Marathon’s veneer and expose the desperate rawness of a dying town.
Just like a photograph that reflects the surface illusion of reality, nothing and no one is what or who, he or she appears to be.
Her new roommate, Franco, is along for the ride or is he?
The Mayor is missing in action. The local cop has called for reinforcements. The union leadership and mill management finally have something they can agree upon and certain citizens will do almost anything to keep Marathon on the map — even murder.
George fights to protect her precious film as she makes life and death decisions that forever bond her to Marathon, its people and the seductive Franco.
